Day-by-day itinerary
1Islamabad → Chilas⌄
Long KKH day along the Indus. Overnight Chilas.
2Chilas → Skardu⌄
Turn off the KKH onto the Skardu road following the Indus gorge.
3Shangrila & Kachura Lakes⌄
Shangrila resort, Upper Kachura Lake walk, evening at Katpana desert.
4Shigar Valley & Fort⌄
Drive to Shigar, tour the fort-palace, optional Blind Lake.
5Manthokha waterfall / Skardu bazaar⌄
Excursion to Manthokha, Kharpocho fort viewpoint, free time in the bazaar.
6Skardu → Chilas → return⌄
Begin the journey home down the Indus.
